frequently asked questions

How can therapy help?

Therapy provides a supportive and non-judgmental environment to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and make meaningful changes in your life. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other challenges, therapy empowers you to overcome obstacles and achieve greater well-being.

How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?

The timeline for feeling better varies from person to person, depending on the nature of your concerns and your goals for therapy. Some people notice improvement after just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing work over several months. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss a plan tailored to your needs, with regular check-ins to track progress.

What can I expect to happen in a therapy session?

Therapy sessions are a safe space where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings. Each session is personalized to your goals, whether that involves exploring past experiences, learning practical coping strategies, or focusing on solutions for current challenges. Sessions may include conversation, mindfulness exercises, or specific therapeutic techniques tailored to your needs. Therapy sessions can be 50, 80, or 110 minutes in duration.

May I include family members in my therapy sessions?

Yes, family members can be included in therapy sessions if it aligns with your goals and is clinically appropriate. Family involvement can be particularly helpful for addressing relationship dynamics, improving communication, or resolving conflicts. We’ll discuss whether including family members might be beneficial during your initial sessions.

Do you offer in-person, virtual, or hybrid therapy?

  • Virtual Therapy: Convenient, secure sessions conducted online.

  • In-Person Therapy: Face-to-face sessions in a comfortable office setting.
